First there was the Rowan cardigan. Then there was The Shrug. And still the cardigan's sleeves were hanging over me. So I crocheted some fingerless mittens!
More Tivoli Ocean. I am really very enamoured by this stuff even though it is 70% Dralon (which is the technical term for plastic, let's be honest here). But the colours are so mesmerising. yes, I know I've gone on about this before so I'll stop now before I lose you.
I was inspired to make these after seeing them on someone's blog a while ago*, although frustratingly I can't remember whose blog it was. I pretty much made them up as I went along, and so there was a degree of enlargement required when I came to sew them together. I decreased by a few stitches to avoid a baggy wrist which worked fine, but they weren't broad enough across my palm so I crocheted a few rows up the sides and that did the trick and didn't look too obviously sized up.
What do you think?

You can see the colour graduation much better in this photo (compared to here, although the colours are a bit lighter than in real life). Hmm. Things would probably be clearer if I photographed one with my hand in it... I'll get back to you on that one. I'm also thinking of crocheting a thumb - do think that would be a good idea?
